Church News

Please welcome the new members in our church family being intro- duced today:  Corwin “Cork” and Sharon Klages.

The Visitation Team will meet TODAY in the Public Room following worship.

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for Sunday July 29th through August 3rd from 5:15 pm to 7:50 pm. A Family Dinner (birth to the twilight years) will be served each night before VBS begins. Classes will be available for children and adults. A children’s program will be held after a potluck meal on August 3rd and at the worship service Sunday on August 5th.

A Cultural Fair for International Students will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Community Church in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to sample food and learn more about Serbia, Kosovo, Russia, Senegal and Kuwait. Our own Jelena Jevtovic (hosted by Ulvens) and Nate Gerasimov (hosted by Seebers) will be your hosts

Ash Wednesday Service is this Wednesday, February 22nd @ 6:30 pm.  The Praise Team will practice following the service.

Men’s Breakfast will meet again this coming Saturday February 25th at 8:00 am to continue the study of “Courageous”.  They will also meet March 3rd and 10th @ 8:00 am for the breakfast and the study.

Village Creek Bible Camp has sent us the registration forms for many of the upcoming events including youth camp.  The following are upcoming: Couples’ Retreat, March 16-18, All-Girls Retreat, April 13-15, Women and Girls’ Retreat, April 27-29, Men’s Retreat, April 20-22, and Men and Boys’ Retreats, May 4-6 and May 18-20, Family Camp, various dates starting in July, Young at Heart (no age limit), September 16-20 and Scrapbooking Retreat, March 9-11, Oct. 30-Nov.1 and Nov. 2-4.  If you are interested in any of these, please talk with Carol in the office,

Cindy Jones (Jacquie Judas’ aunt) from Cody WY has received news that her breast cancer has spread throughout her body.  Chemo will be started.  Please pray that Jesus will hold her tenderly in his arms to give her and the family strength and peace.

Shawn (Gary and Shari Downey’s daughter) had good news this week.  The spot on her lung has disappeared.  God is good!

Bill Kimpston (Cecil Holmes’ cousin) has been released from the hospital and needs prayer for healing and strength. He will have two more surgeries in the near future.

Vera Mae Wilson needs prayer.

Manami Bjorndal requests prayer for the unspoken.

Prayers for Heidi Adams dealing with cancer.

Angie Wilson (Seda) has had a bone marrow transplant.

Nancy Colwell is in follow-up treatment.  Pray for strength and healing.

Pat Staack remains so positive and so thankful to all for the prayers that she has continued to receive during her treatment.

Darrell Grinnell is back in skilled nursing (Rm 14C) at the Lutheran Home.

Dick Mergen is still battling cancer.

Boyd (Bud) Hamm is still battling cancer and continues with treatment.  Prayers for healing are needed.

Beverly Holmes is residing at Ravenwood.
